Declan

I was born into this world. I am what it made me. I do things that others find disgusting. I broke many rules when I met Brooke. She showed up one night and I took advantage of that. When she kept coming back, I knew there was more to her. One fucking day changed it all. One secret from my past blew our relationship out of the water.

Brooke

Loss was all I knew. It creeps around every corner. One dare. That’s all it took. The night I met Declan, I was on the high of my life. I felt safe with him. Little did I know; his secrets were also mine. When his past is revealed, I lose it. The man he claimed to be was a man I’d known all my life.

With all the street violence in the news, almost every day, the Prologue can be tough to read.  Knowing that, don’t skip it because that’s how we first get to know Declan.  Brooke is a young woman whose life hasn’t been easy.  Their first encounter?  No words to describe – sexy?, hot?  Neither word does justice to the scene.

These are two people who tell it like it is with language that could burn virgin ears.  It was interesting to watch Declan soften around the edges as the story progresses.  But that doesn’t mean he still won’t be a bada** when he needs to be.  Sometimes the first book in a series can feel long because the author has so much world building.  Never had that feeling here.  There were some things that occurred that shows the life of someone in an MC.  But if not for that life, Brooke would not have gotten the help she needed.  I loved this from beginning to end but was disappointed in not getting any surprise or hint of what’s coming up next.  Wanted to stamp a foot but that would help and depending on how hard I did it, it could even hurt.  If you’re into MC reads, than this author has plenty to choose from until book two comes out.

I am a wife, mother, child chauffeur and author. I love being able to create different characters and spin a web that makes them come together in the end. My books do not stick to just one genre, they span many.

I write about things that are real life situations and fairy tales are not always smooth sailing. My MC books are hard and gritty and they have struggles just like you would in life.

I also have books that are not so in your face. There are several that are good love stories that are fraught with issues that the characters have to deal with.
