About The Perfect Gentleman:

For Nathan Alexander it's not an option. It's a way of life.

As an attorney he defends the defenseless. But when the suit comes off and the gloves go on, his passion is teaching others how to defend themselves.

His life was purposefully methodical. Completely under control. Just the way he likes it.

Until Emma McClain walks in his gym. Battered. Broken. And utterly breathtaking.

After his last relationship, Alex swore he'd never give another woman the power to hurt him. But with her unforgettable smile and killer legs, Emma has him fighting for control.

Little does he know she is fighting for her life.

Will he be able to save her before it's too late? Or will an unexpected revelation cost them both the ultimate price?

 My Thoughts:

Emma is a very sad young woman – no one should be that sad.  She lives with an SOB of a man.  Nathan “Alex” Alexander is a sad man.  He has something in common with Emma.  They both have ways of forgetting their sadness.

There are parts to this story that I really hate.  But in the author’s defense it’s hate in a good way.  It shows what a good job she’s done in getting me involved in her story.  She has one character that lacks humanity and I hate how he makes Emma feel.  I want to find some way to protect her from that jerk.  Only an author who knows her readers and how to draw their attention can grab a new reader’s attention like mine.

The author creates just the right scene that has me shaking my head.   If her words didn’t have a ring of truth to them there would be no reason for me to do that – I would just sit here and read her words with no reaction.  This is what makes a story enjoyable – a story that gets some type of reaction out of me.

Ms. Foster also knows what it takes in order to get me to love this story.  You have to have a champion or white knight that can protect those that can’t protect themselves.  We also want someone that can make our female character feel safe and loved.  She lets us see something magical develop and gives hope to any Emma’s that may be out there.  But being this is fiction, you also need to do what Emma did and seek help.

There’s a scene with just Alex and Emma.  They’re both where they’re supposed to be.  At the end of Alex’s scene he says something that may resonate in your heart like it did with mine.  And the same holds true with the very last sentence.  It left me looking forward to reading more of of this author’s work.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Love isn’t always beautiful. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s complicated. Sometimes it’s senseless and even a little fucking crazy. You’ll wake up some mornings and you’ll want to quit. But you won’t. You can’t. Because even when it feels like you’re wandering through the forest, you still manage to find yourself. Alive. Redeemed. And you can’t go back to the way you were. No, babygirl, this is the new you. And you are the woman I love.”
“You were worth it,” she whispers against my skin.
 “What’s that, love?”
 “The wait.”

About the Author:

Delaney Foster is a Louisiana native, not far from New Orleans, where eating, drinking, and dancing are pretty much a requirement for citizenship. She loves all things romance, a good glass of wine, and Saturdays at the baseball park. She definitely believes leggings are pants and is a bit of a book whore. It all started with Jane Austen and her Darcy and has evolved to the likes of Ella Frank, Mia Sheridan, and Colleen Hoover. Just to name a few. In her love stories you will find sexy, alpha males and the strong women who love them.
