Welcome to Harrison’s Heart, book 7 in Heroes for Hire, reconnecting readers with the unforgettable men from SEALs of Honor in a new series of action-packed, page turning romantic suspense that fans have come to expect from USA TODAY Bestselling author Dale Mayer.

When a call for help comes from Ice’s father, Harrison steps up. A senator has been shot, his wife beaten and his kids are in the wind. It’s up to Harrison to find the answers everyone is looking for.

Including finding the senator’s ex-military and pissed at the world daughter. Only she doesn’t want anything to do with him.

Zoe is on a mission. There’s no room in her world for heroes – especially not Harrison. But he won’t take no for an answer. Only Zoe has angered the wrong people, and they won’t stop until they put an end to her meddling or better yet – to her.

With so much going on, Harrison struggles to pull the pieces together – before their world is completely blown apart – permanently.

My Thoughts:

Harrison Hamilton seems to be the odd man out.  He doesn’t seem to like how life is changing around him.  He’s so snarky that you can almost hear it coming off the page.  Zoe Branson shows the reader how tough it is being a woman in the military.  Adds to what has been in the news lately.

Our author takes their two stories and interweaves a little mystery and intrigue – something great to pass a rainy day.  Harrison is a symbol of strength and that’s something Zoe needs in her life right now.  We see glimpses of her inner strength but she needs someone that she can lean on for a change.  I can get where she’s coming from but the author has made her really stubborn.  This just has me wanting to see who wins the battle.

Like a story with plenty of action?  This author will give that to you in spades.  There are two secondary characters, Saul and Dakota, that can make a dig at Zoe and have you laugh at the same time.  They leave you wanting more.  This is a story where you’re going to want to get comfortable.  You just may find yourself finishing this book in one sitting.  I was happy to see an ending that lets me know that this series isn’t quite over yet.  You actually meet the next hero here but the author is great at teasing her readers so be prepared to wait and see what match Ms. Mayer has created.

Don’t feel that you need to read the first six books in order to enjoy this one – you don’t.  But I hope that you enjoy this one enough that at some point you may want to read more of the series.  Especially with book eight coming out next month.  Having met the next hero in this book did leave me wanting to see more of him and now I have that chance.  Then maybe you could go back and check out the previous books.
