My Thoughts:
One thing that impressed me right
away was that part of the proceeds from this book goes to a very worth
charity. Something else that’s nice is
that the prequel was included with my book so it’s like getting two books for
the price of one. But if you stop over to Amazon, you may get book nine for free.
Margo Santero has been put into a
position that she’s not comfortable with.
The author has created a threat that Margo has to face but shouldn’t
have to. It’s that threat that affects
how she acts. Rod McLemore finds that he
gets more then he bargained for when he’s doing a favor for a relative.
As I start to read, the only
thing I couldn’t figure out was who fit the title. Maybe they both are and that’s why they are
so combustible together. Neither is afraid
to go after what they want and they’re very vocal about it. If you’re having some really cold winter
nights, this will certainly heat things up.
This is a story with an older man
and younger woman. Each has
responsibilities but when they come together nothing seems to matter until the
mind takes over. To really understand
the characters then you’ll find that you have to read the whole story.
I thought Rod was a great
character. He’s not afraid to tell Margo
how things are going to be. She’ll have
something to say but he comes back with a great retort. But then you look at Margo and she’s
something of a mystery and she closes herself off from others.
The author has created a male
character that you can do no other than hate him – I could not find any
redeeming qualities to change my mind.
Then she creates a character that you don’t know whether to feel sorry
for him or you want to hit him over the head and tell him to wake up. For me, this is what makes for an author that
I will read more of their work. You get
to have feelings for the characters that they create. Then you look forward to the next book coming
out or check out the ones you haven’t read yet.
