Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from DRC’s Promotions and the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:
What would you do if the man you loved woke up and didn’t remember you?  Christian Storm was your normal kick ass bad boy, until his best friend admitted to having feelings for him.

One the heel of Rick’s confession, Christian gets his act together, and starts a relationship with Rick.
The case they’re working on together goes sour at the end and Rick is taken.  After a few days Rick is found broken and battered. When he wakes up in the hospital, Rick doesn’t know who he or anyone else is.

Now Christian has to find the man responsible for Rick’s abduction and attack before he strikes again. With his mind preoccupied with finding Logan, will Christian be able to convince Rick that they are deeply in love with each other? Or will Christian lose everything he holds dear?
Freeing His Mercenary is the continuation of Taming His Mercenary.

My Thoughts:
This book reaffirms that this is a series that must be read in order – it continues right from where the second book left off.  So you can think of it like a serial  - you always read, or watch it, in order.  If you cheat then you may miss out on something – why not enjoy the series as written.  There’s a cute scene- stealer that has been added which the reader should enjoy.

What I love is that this author shows how accepting some people are about men loving each other but that’s in a perfect world.  And that scene shows how different this story is from the first book.  The heat goes up another notch so you might want to sit in a corner so that no one can read over your shoulder.  The story left me wondering if our team’s story will continue, will the reader get more of Rick and Christian’s story or maybe we’ll get one of the other team member’s story.  Following the author might be a good idea so you’ll always know what she’s working on.

Other Books In The Series:

My Thoughts:
Chase Black is a take-charge kind of guy.  Cameron Allen meets Chase at a job where women and children are involved.  It won’t take long before the heat builds between these two characters.  It will also not take the reader long to realize that it’s going to become very warm so you may want something tall and cold nearby.

This is a short story but I don’t get any indication that the author is attempting to rush into anything.  It’s just the natural attraction between two people and the jobs that they do.  You may also forget that these two main characters are men – you just think of them as two people.  Our author does show that prejudice occurs which makes this story believable.  This book was a great way to introduce the reader to this series.

Taming His Mercenary
(Mercenary In Love Book 2)

Amazon ~BN ~ Smashwords ~ Kobo ~iBooks

My Thoughts:
Rick is sitting pining for someone he doesn’t think he can have.  Christian is a man that seems pretty clueless when it comes to some of the people he works with.  Now, that just might catch the reader’s attention – you want to find out how long it takes before his light bulb goes on.

If you enjoyed book one then this is a great follow-up.  It won’t take you long to realize that you have to read these books in order.  If you’re not sure that’s true, once you get to the end of this story, the Epilogue sets the reader up for the next book.  It also seems if the heat level has increased from Chase and Cameron’s story.  The books are short enough that you can read them one after the other and still have plenty of time left in your day to do something else.
